- Ofir,
- -----
- Fine. I don't see why you are here then. A standard does not need to make
- sense. There is no way where every keyboard shortcut is going to make
- sense to everyone.
- -----
-
- You're not waying what you really mean. A standard DOES need to make sense,
- entirely. There should be nothing in a standard that is arbitrary. On the
- other hand, there are many reasons why one would want a shortcut key to not
- match the function it corresponds to, due to things like acceptance,
- position on keyboard, physics, frequency of use, danger, and many others.
-
-
- Ofir:
- ----
- I think this should use the CTRL modifier. How about:
-
- CTRL * - Full window
- CTRL + - Zoom in/larger font
- CTRL - - Zoom Out/smaller font
- CTRL 0 - Zoom 100%
- ----
-
- I think these are ok, but be sure that they are marked at being for the
- keypad.
-
-
-
- Ofir about Ctrl-A:
- ----
- There will be a vote on this although I strongly object to the idea on the
- grounds that it requires each and every application in existance to
- change. I do not think we will be taken seriously if we go for that and
- our proposal will simply be ignored.
- ----
-
- As has been said before, this is a guideline! The developer could choose
- not to follow a few of the suggestions for one reason or another. We want
- to look like we're on the ball here and if we make changes to the standard
- that are aware of physics (rather than blind jump-on-the-bandwagon), then
- people will respect that.
-
-
- Gribnif,
-
- I feel that we should have ONE standard for all countries. I also am weakly
- against the idea of having a config file.
-
-
- Stephan,

- >ALT-SPACE: Redraw all open windows
- >ALT-KPENTER: Redraw current window
- Why should this be nessesary? A bugfree programm does not need this.
- And if you really need it, you can have it by fulling twice the topwindow
- or a
- similar action.
- -----
-
- I agree. If a program NEEDS window contents to be redrawn at user command,
- then there is something wrong with the program.
